This may be the shortest post on this blog, but the recipe is for Simple Syrup after all, so I guess it’s okay.
If you leave the South and order iced tea, you’ll most likely be given unsweetened tea with a pack or two of sugar. It just doesn’t work. You can’t get the sugar to dissolve in a cold beverage.
Simple syrup takes care of that problem.
If you want to sweeten your iced coffee, this is the thing to use.
The sugar/water ratio is 1:1.
I used 1 cup of sugar
and 1 cup of water.
Heat these in a saucepan until the sugar has dissolved.
Let it cool a bit and store in a covered container in the refrigerator.
I mentioned coffee and tea but have also used it in lemonade.
